Bruno M. Matias is German patent attorney and representative before the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). He is one of the founding partners of MERH-IP.

His practice is focusing on prosecution of German and European patent applications including opposition and nullity proceedings in the fields of automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, electronic and electromechanical components, microelectronics and information technology. He has broad experience in matters of patent licensing, infringement proceedings and trademarks and has published papers on the subject of computer implemented inventions.

Prior to his patent attorney education, he worked with Siemens AG as R&D engineer responsible for process control and optimization in the manufacturing of DRAM memory components.

Bruno studied mechanical engineering and electrical engineering, specializing in data acquisition and control engineering and holds a degree in process engineering from TU Munich. He was a DAAD Scholarship holder, and worked as a fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service at the Engine Research Centre of the Wisconsin-Madison University, USA, with primary focus on applied research on internal combustion engines.
