Mark is a partner of MERH-IP qualified as German patent attorney and as representative before the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
He started tp practise in the field of Intellectual Property in 2008 and joined MERH-IP in 2009 at the time of the foundation of the firm, at first working as a patent attorney trainee and then, from 2010, as an associate before he became partner in 2016.
The main focus of his work as a patent attorney lies in the drafting and prosecution of German, European and International patent applications as well as utility models in the technical fields of communication, information and data processing technology, medical technology, consumer electronics, physical measurement technology, automotive engineering, and machine tool engineering including numerical control of machines.
His practice covers the representation in patent examination procedures before the German and European patent offices as well as in opposition and nullity proceedings and infringement matters as well design patents. Mark further takes care of numerous international patent families in close collaboration with respective national representatives, in particular in USA, Japan, China, India and Korea. Also, he advises and represents in connection with German, European and International trademark application series.
Mark graduated in Physics at Munich Technical University. Prior to starting his patent attorney training, Mark worked as a scientific research associate at Munich Technical University where he was awarded a doctorate in 2007 for his studies in theoretical astro particle physics. During his time as a PhD student, Mark gathered particular experience in computer simulation and software development.
